Rohit Kicks Ball to Avoid Stumping, Twitter Says ‘Smart Football’

On his return to the field after missing an IPL game for the first time 11 years, Mumbai Indians captain Rohit Sharma looked in super form in their IPL match against Rajasthan Royals on Saturday, 13 April.

Opening the innings, he stitched a 96-run stand with Quinton de Kock before falling to Jofra Archer for 47.

But in the over before he was dismissed, Sharma kicked away a full toss delivery off K Gowtham to avoid stumping. Not only did the skipper start laughing after his desperate shot to avoid getting out, he also left Twitter complimenting his football skills.

Rajasthan Royals won the toss and put Mumbai Indians in to bat in their IPL match at the Wankhede stadium.

For Mumbai Indians, regular skipper Rohit Sharma came back into the team and Siddhesh Lad missed out.

Rajasthan Royals made two changes, bringing in Liam Livingstone in place of injured Ben Stokes while Krishnappa Gowtham came in for Riyan Parag.
