Passengers’ luggage removed from flight to accommodate England cricketers’ kit
The England cricketers flying to Wellington for their T20I against New Zealand gained some unwanted haters when the luggage of other passengers were removed from the flight at Sydney to accommodate theirs. Though Qantas Airlines have confirmed to deliver the luggage to the respective passengers in a day, the incident left those affected livid. The cricketers, however, were flying in a different aircraft.
“There was just bag after bag after bag with the ECT marks on them … and that was basically it and it was all on for England. The penny was dropping there for most of the passengers,” Viraj Thomson, whose luggage was left behind at Sydney, told Checkpoint with John Campbell, as reported by radionz.co.nz.
“It was a disgraceful display … and the issue seems to be that … left hand being Sydney didn’t tell right hand being Wellington what was going on and non-team bags were basically forfeit for what appears to be the greater good of a foreign sporting body,” he added.
