Hardik Pandya’s Cameo With the Bat Leaves Twitter Entertained
Mumbai Indians ended on 187/ 8 as Hardik Pandya’s cameo of 14-ball 32 became the talking point at the end of the first innings. Playing their first game at home, Bangalore won the toss and asked Mumbai to bat first. Openers Rohit Sharma (48) and Quinton de Kock (23) added 54 for the first wicket.
In the final five overs, with Hardik Pandya at the wicket, Mumbai fancied getting close to 200. And Hardik didn’t dissappoint.
Pandya smacked the ball to all parts of the ground in the last two overs. He hit Mohammed Siraj for two mammoth sixes with one of his sixes reaching the roof. Pandya’s late cameo, however, did not go down well with the RCB skipper. He looked pale and lost seeing Pandya going great guns.
Apart from the three mammoth sixes, Hardik hit 2 fours also.
Earlier, Yuvraj Singh (23 off 12 balls), Suryakumar Yadav (38 off 24 balls) provided the much-needed impetus in the middle of the innings and build on the good work of the openers. However, Bangalore bounced back as Yuzvendra Chahal picked up four wickets including the big wickets of Yuvraj and Pollard to stifle the run flow.
Twitter however, was enthralled with his power hitting and praised him to the hilt. Here is how they were buzzing at the end of his innings.. Read more on IPL by The Quint.
