5 defeats in 5 matches this ICC World Cup 2019 and Afghanistan’s campaign isn’t showing signs of looking up after their latest defeat to England in Manchester on Tuesday.

While the talking point of the fixture was England skipper Eoin Morgan’s quick-fire century, the post-match presentation saw Afghan skipper Gulbadin Naib threaten to walk out if reporters continued to question him about a news report regarding his players being involved in an altercation on the eve of the England fixture.

According to BBC News, Greater Manchester Police was called to intervene an altercation between some members of the Afghanistan team and patrons of a restaurant around 11:15pm on Monday night. According to the report, the players had gotten into a confrontation because the patrons were making video recordings of them.

No arrests have been made, though the investigation is believed to still be underway.

When asked about the incident after the game, Gulbadin said, ‘I don’t know anything about it. You can ask my security officers.’ 'You weren’t there?’ a reporter asked and the skipper said, ‘No no’.

When another reporter asked how incidents like these affect the team the next day, the skipper’s reply was, “I didn’t know anything about them. It’s not that big an issue for me or the team. We have a manager and we have a security officer, you can go ask them’

‘If anyone asks these kind of questions, I will go,’ said Gulbadin ending the topic.
